Andrew Allen
A Non-Executive Director and Board Advisor with over 20 years of leadership experience across multiple sectors. Passionate about fostering purpose driven organisations, I leverage my expertise in technology and strategic planning to support organisations that prioritise social impact alongside profitability.
I served as our Club President between 2019-2022 and elected to serve as District Governor for North Wales & North West England for 2026-2027.
Beyond my professional life, I am a proud father of three daughters and grandfather to two wonderful grandsons. I have a deep love for the outdoors, with mountaineering being one of my greatest passions.

Gayle Allen
Currently in my second year as President of the City of Liverpool Club, a very rewarding and thoroughly enjoyable responsibility which I have been truly honoured to undertake.
I have recently ‘retired’ from my senior management role within the charity sector and I am now preparing to take on the challenge of the ‘Chief of Staff’ role for my husband, Andrew, in his upcoming year as District Governor for District 1180.
I am looking forward to being able to enjoy the ‘good life’, to reset the work/life balance and to have the amazing opportunity to have more time to spend focusing on giving back. I have three wonderful daughters and two gorgeous grandsons who I love spending time with making happy memories. I love to spend time in the great outdoors, walking, visiting new places and enjoying nature.

Lizzie Bridgelock
I originally joined Rotary through my company’s CSR programme, as charity work has always been important to me. I’ve always believed that helping others matters, and Rotary is the perfect outlet for that — supporting people and organisations both locally and overseas.
I have spent 19 years running Cubs, and later Beavers, within Scouting. Alongside leading the sections, I’ve organised fundraising initiatives for the group and helped maintain our hut to keep it clean, safe, and usable for everyone.
I’m proud to be part of a group of likeminded people within Rotary. Our meetings are fun, engaging, and genuinely welcoming — it feels good to be surrounded by people who share the same passion for making a difference.

I have spent my entire career in Financial Services, which has spanned over 50 years. I retired from full time employment as Chief Executive of Royal Liver Assurance in September 2011 but I am currently a Non-Executive Director of a Friendly Society based in Manchester. I am an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute and a former President of the Insurance Institute of Liverpool. I sit on the Trustee Boards of two charities based in Liverpool. I am, of course, a proud Rotarian and a former President of our Club.
Outside of those areas, I maintain a keen interest in 20th Century history and foreign travel. I also have a lifetime of interest and experience in football at all levels. I am currently the Vice-Chairman of a local Junior Football League Management Committee. Now of an age where participation in a playing capacity is sadly beyond me, I watch from the comfort of the stands as a season ticket holder of a Premier League club.

A musician and writer, I’ve been a Rotary member since 1992. I was a member of Birkenhead Rotary Club and moved over the water to my present club more than a decade ago.
I worked as a journalist for many years at organisations including the BBC, national and regional newspapers. As a freelancer, I worked for a wide range of print and broadcast outlets, as well as in public relations. I was a senior lecturer in journalism at Liverpool John Moores University for more than 20 years where my principal research area looked in depth at Welsh-language journalism.
